Review by anonymous on 15th July 2000

I am not a fan of horror films in general and find most of them predictable and boring eg: Nightmare on Elm Street etc. This is one of only two horror films which i found to be horrifying. The scene when the girl walks into the house and see,s bones hanging from the ceiling and is attacked by the lunatic with the dead skin over his face is original and had I seen this film in 1974 as a six year old child I would have been unable to sleep for weeks. The continuous screaming at the end is a bit iritating but the overall effect of the film is awsome. The red necks in the film are scarey and the film suceeds in its overall aim to scare the shit out of the viewer.

Some films are not well received on their initial release. However, thanks to television showings, or home video/dvd releases, these films find a certain audience. These are known as 'cult' films. They are usually off-beat, and unconventional, and in some cases obscure.
