Life Is Sweet
Film Description Leigh's working class characters never have easy lives, but their difficulties are seen through comedy which makes them bearable. Here, Steadman's Wendy keeps her pecker up to support her family through their individual, very 1990s despair. Horrocks and Thewliss play their well-observed, slightly grotesque roles perfectly. Should you laugh, cry or do both?
