Film Description

The Maori peoples of New Zealand, once masters their land, are now in many cases confined to poverty and destitution in inner cities. This magnificent film follows the life of one such family through the eyes of a young girl whos only escape from her situation is her imagination. There was some question when this film was made about the casting of Morrison (a prominent star in a New Zealand soap opera) but his performance here is never overstated and always from the heart.
