The Century Of Cinema - Russia & Poland
Film Description Two highly personal films exploring film, its power, its role, the part it plays in shaping society, and, conversely, the role audiences play in defining it. "The Russian Idea" by Sergei Selyanov explores the notion of film as a revolutionary process, part of the ongoing desire to shape the world anew. "100 Years Of Polish Cinema" by Pawel Lozinski (from an idea by Krzysztof Kieslowski) uses film clips to examine the effect film has upon its audiences, investigating the power of the collective memory.
