Dead Of Night
Film Description Superb ghost story compilation, using material from H G Wells and E F Benson amongst others. People tell ghost stories, and one man is overcome with a terrible sense of deja vu. Saturated with excellence, but the outstanding moments are those featuring Redgrave's descent into madness, and the nightmarishly intense climax.

Review by Cinton Morgan on 29th August 2002 A favourite of the eccentric composer Frank Zappa. This film is possibly the best of the ensemble-director genre and a forerunner to the unfairly maligned 'Four Rooms'.

Great British Films by John Wilde Just a selection of films which made a big impact on me. Saw most of them first on TV and believed they were all in black and white. Some funny, some melodramatic one or two quite scary.
