The Merchant Of Four Seasons
Film Description The decline of a working-class fruit salesman, who gradually becomes superfluous to his own life, is powerfully captured in this sharp, devastating work. A rumination on the terrible effects a loveless life can accomplish, this sees the auteur at his most ironic, and the frozen crocodile tears on his nagging wife's cheeks at the end of the film is a classic Fassbinder moment.
