Film Description

A little girl follows a white rabbit into a world where nothing is quite what it seems. So far, so familiar - but where Svankmajer's first feature differs from all other adaptations of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland is that it explores the book's darker side as well. Told through a combination of live ation (Alice is the only human performer) and stop-motion animation, it owes as much to Svankmajer as to Carroll with outwardly familiar events given fresh and unexpected new twists.
