Film Description

A film that evokes the classic Hollywood women's pictures as it follows the life of Leo, a romantic novelist whose life is a bitter contrast to the rhapsodic worlds she creates. The film is more earnest than earlier ones by Almodovar, but there are still wonderful comic touches such as the bickering mother and sister and the subplot of the flamenco-dancing housekeeper and son, brilliantly played by Joaquín Cortés.

Featuring Spains high priest of hip with a brilliant combination of stylised comedy and full-blooded melodrama.
