La Reine Margot
Film Description Patrice Chereau's kinetic account of the events surrounding the infamous St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre of 1572 is the most 'modern' of recent heritage extravaganzas. Owing its relentless logic to certain dynastic gangster movies and its blood-letting to the Tarantino era, Margot has a down-dirty chutzpah which borders on the streetwise.
