Film Description

Patrice Chereau's kinetic account of the events surrounding the infamous St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre of 1572 is the most 'modern' of recent heritage extravaganzas. Owing its relentless logic to certain dynastic gangster movies and its blood-letting to the Tarantino era, Margot has a down-dirty chutzpah which borders on the streetwise.

Friday 7th December 2007

The film journal Sight & Sound claimed recently that the American cinema is going through a period comparable to the golden age of the early 1970s. It’s a bold statement, though one chiefly premised on the present wave of dramas concerned with the fallout from an unp...  View article in full

The Top 10 Sexiest Performances in Film by MovieMail

The steamy summer has set us thinking about sex, and in particular those performances with a certain indefinable yes! factor. As you'll see, we haven't always gone for the obvious choices. You are of course at liberty to disagree with us. On the right you'll find a poll where you can vote on our choices, to suggest some of your own, simply add a comment! Does it need saying that all of these films come highly – as well as personally – recommended.
