Film Description

A classic, unjustly neglected Western based on a story by Elmore Leonard. The scenario is reminiscent of both Shane and High Noon as poverty stricken farmer Heflin escorts notorious outlaw Ford to the state pen and holes up in a hotel to wait for the train as gunmen close in. Taut tension and fascinating psychological battles between the two men distinguish this riveting drama.
