Film Description

Highlights both the youth and helplessness of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers and Zeffirelli's own trademark genius for creating beauty in setting, landscape and costumes. The men and women at the Capulet ball look as if they have stepped straight out of Renaissance paintings. Exquisite, lyrical and considered innovative in the 1960s.

Review by Cynthia Phillips on 16th October 2000

Romeo & Juliet was a very good movie! The sound, costumes, and color of the movie was very vibrant and perfect. I would suggest that every person that likes Romeo & Juliet purchase this video. It probably the best adaptation of Shakespeare the century has ever had.
