The Train
Film Description Burt Lancaster is superb as a French Resistance leader trying to frustrate the German forces in the closing days of World War 2. The remarkable train crash sequence is a copybook example of how to set up and film action - something that this director has always done well, as in 'Grand Prix' and especially 'Ronin', for example. The climax of the film is an extraordinary conclusion to Lancaster's character arc. A classic. JS.
