A Kind Of Loving
Film Description Schlesinger's first feature, adapted from the novel by Stan Barstow by Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall. Set in an industrial Lancashire town, a bittersweet tale of a young draughtsman who falls for the typist working in the same factory, gets her preganant and is trapped into marriage. Sharply observed in documentary style and with plenty of salty northern dialogue.
