A young woman wanders a stark industrial landscape in search of fresh purpose. When she meets someone on the same road, they become lovers. Shot in a Ravenna blasted in deep ochres and browns and featuring a sensitive performance from Vitti, this European masterpiece foresees desolate cities from Tarkovsky to Michael Mann.
