The story is loosely based on the Leopold-Loeb case as two young gay men murder their friend, hide his body in a trunk and then for the sheer intellectual thrill of it, see if any of their party guests suspect anything. Playfully perverse, with Hitch typically eliciting audience identification with the killers, and creating taut suspense as Stewart gradually realises the enormity of his two former pupils' crime.
