The Alamo
Film Description The story of how a handful of Americans defended a ramshackle mission against a 7000 strong Mexican army. Something of a labour of love and a much cherished project for Wayne, this stridently patriotic, epic may be historically inaccurate and is not without longueurs at over 3 hours, but nevertheless remains enjoyably watchable. John Ford is said to have worked uncredited on the film, and the final climactic battle is superbly mounted.
