Film Description

Huston's stab at Melville's masterwork suffers from a miscast Peck as Captain Ahab, but scores highly as an ambitious undertaking with many striking sequences, a strong screenplay from Huston and Ray Bradbury, and a piquant turn by Welles. The colour, said to have sought to emulate the palette range of old whaling prints, is bold.
