Film Description Hollywood icon and head of the Douglas dynasty, Kirk Douglas is generally regarded as one of the greatest screen legends of all time. This collection celebrates his extraordinary career with three of his finest films, including his screen debut in THE STRANGE LOVE OF MARTHA IVERS (1946), a classic of the noir genre. Douglas stars as the alcoholic husband of a ruthless, spoiled heiress played by the impressive Barbara Stanwyck. In THE BIG TREES (1952) Douglas is tough lumber baron Jim Fallon, intent on taking control of a forest valley, where a colony of Quakers have taken up residence. MY DEAR SECRETARY (1949) sees Douglas play author Owen Waterbury, who's playboy lifestyle disappoints his new secretary. As she becomes disenchanted by his flagrant interest in ladies over literature, Waterbury resorts to drastic measures to stop her leaving.
