Film Description

The early 90s sitcom DESMOND'S followed the lives of staff and customers who frequented the South London barbershop owned by grumpy Desmond Ambrose (Norman Beaton) and his sweetnatured wife, Shirley (Carmen Munroe). Among the inspired supporting players were the Ambroses' uptight son, Michael (Geff Francis), and the zany Caribbean immigrant Porkpie (Ram John Holder). Though the series was cancelled after Beaton's untimely death, it remains a beloved and nostalgic favourite for its warmhearted look at Afro-Caribbean family life. This collection features the entire second series.
