Film Description

Robert Redford directs and stars in this ode to political activism which boasts a powerhouse cast including Meryl Streep and Tom Cruise. The film follows three storylines centred on the Iraq war: a rising Republican senator (Cruise) summons leading journalist (Streep), to sell her on the government's new military strategy; a history professor (Redford) tries to convince one of his students they can make a difference; meanwhile, two former students are embroiled in a firefight in Iraq. The senator and journalist argue, the professor and student debate, and all the while the wounded soldiers wait desperately for rescue.
