Yield to the Night
Film Description
Yield to the Night saw Dors subvert her rather superficial image as nothing more than a blonde bombshell in the role of Mary Hilton: a woman used and abused by men all her life until one day she snaps and murders her lover’s new mistress. With plot details borrowed from the infamous Ruth Ellis hanging barely a year before, the film proved a controversial addition to the capital punishment debate, as well as Dors’ worth as a fine dramatic actress.
