Film Description

The endless strip of blacktop spanning the Australian desert is a hypnotic drive for a commercial trucker hauling frozen meat on a routine run. But fatigue soon gives away to suspense as he is tricked into lethal play with an obsessive killer with whom he shares the 1,600 miles of lonely road, in this classic psychological thriller from cult director Richard Franklin. Packed with bristling black humour, the film features an excellent central performance from Stacey Keach as the free-wheeling truck-driver who suddenly finds himself trapped in a nightmare, and Jamie Lee Curtis as the hitchhiker meets who then mysteriously disappears. With striking photography of the Australian outback and tension by the bucket-load, Roadgames keeps the audience on the edge of its seat until the very end.
