Film Description

William H Macy plays Edmond, a world-weary businessman whose life changes dramatically after visiting a fortune teller. He seeks freedom and self-discovery on the streets of New York but is instead confronted by indiscriminate crime and violence from muggers and prostitutes, which forces his fears and his rage to boil over. Newly liberated from the restraints of his earlier life, he begins a destructive descent into a personal and urban hell.

Whilst Stuart Gordon is best renowned for his body of horror work, this is his second collaboration with David Mamet, having previously directed the stage production of Sexual Perversity in Chicago. Edmond is a disturbing and provocative exploration of one man’s confrontational journey into the darker corners of fear and desire.
