Brute Force (1947)
Film Description A jailbreak is planned under the nose of a sadistic guard in this hybrid of a POW movie and a political allegory. Dassin makes evocative use of William Daniels's noirish imagery, but the power comes from the performances and the grim brutality of Richard Brooks's screenplay.
