Film Description

The first five films in JK Rowling's outrageously popular boarding schools n' broomsticks saga.

Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone (Chris Columbus, 2001).
The first book in JK Rowling's series gets a faithful adaptation to film, with an array of excellent British actors delivering memorable performances. The film sets up all the heroes and villains who will appear throughout the tales, and boasts a terrific, exhilarating Quidditch sequence. A great family movie.

Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets (Chris Columbus, 2002).
Harry returns for his second term at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry along with his best friends Hermione and Ron. He ignores warnings not to go back by a mysterious house elf named Dobby and soon strange things start happening. It becomes apparent that someone has opened The Chamber of Secrets... but who is responsible and can the dark forces that lurk there be stopped?

Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban (Alfonso Cuaron, 2004).
The Harry Potter franchise takes a turn for the darker side in the latest cinematic instalment of JK Rowlings hugely popular series. Y Tu Mama Tambien director Alfonso Cuaron adds a fresh take on the films, with Harry being pursued by wicked wizard Sirius Black. Possibly the best in the series so far.

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire (Mike Newell, 2005).
When Harry Potter's name emerges from the Goblet of Fire, he becomes a competitor in a gruelling battle for glory among three wizarding schools - the Tri-wizard Tournament. But since Harry never submitted his name for the Tournament, who did? Now Harry must confront a deadly dragon, fierce water demons and an enchanted maze only to find himself in the cruel grasp of He Who Must Not Be Named. In this fourth film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, everything changes as Harry, Ron and Hermione leave childhood forever and take on challenges greater than anything they could have imagined.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (David Yates, 2007).
Harry Potter returns in the fifth instalment of J.K. Rowling's popular sage of boarding schools and broomsticks. Harry has survived his battle with Voldemort, but no-one believes the Dark Lord has returned. Worst still, his friends seem to be keeping something from him. Does a mysterious globe locked deep within the Ministry of Magic hold the key? Imelda Staunton steals the show as Hogwart's new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.
