Film Description
Homer's acquisition of a pet pig sees Springfield thrown into an environmental crisis, causing it to be sealed off from the rest of the United States. Can the family set aside their differences to save their hometown? The show's surreal comedy, familial hijinks and hilarious sight gags make the translation to the big screen in triumph.

Review by James Oliver on 30th October 2007
The Simpsons is probably the best reason to be grateful to John Logie Baird. At its height, it had more ideas, erudition and (most importantly) jokes per square inch than any other television programme, ever. But TV shows are a sprint, not a marathon. How would The Simpsons fare when confronted with the very different demands of the feature film? As it turns out, brilliantly.
As ever, our hero is Homer Simpson patriarch and buffoon and, as ever, his long-suffering wife Marge is here to mop up his mistakes. This time, Homer creates an environmental apocalypse that necessitates exile to Alaska. But Marge has had enough and leaves him. Can Homer redeem himself, save the day and get (back) the girl?
The creative team have pulled out all the stops: its funnier than any episode from the last decade. Its unlikely youll see anything more amusing than the Spider Pig scene this year, unless its Homer getting hurt. Much more than an extended TV episode, this is a classic movie comedy in its own right.
