The Killers (1946) / The Killers (1964)
Film Description Two adaptations of Ernest Hemingway's famous short story of the same name, Robert Siodmak's 1946 version, starring Burt Lancaster and Ava Gardner, and Don Siegel's 1964 version, starring Lee Marvin, John Cassavetes, Angie Dickinson, and Ronald Reagan (in his last film). Originally made for television, Siegel's film was deemed too violent for the small screen and was released theatrically, first in Europe, then years later in America.
