Film Description

Two outstanding near-future dystopian sci-fis. Comprises:

Children Of Men (Alfonso Cuaron, 2006)
A hugely impressive futuristic vision from Mexican director Cuaron. Set in London, 2027, in a world where humans can no longer procreate, a pregnant woman is discovered. She must be transported to a sanctuary at sea in order to save the human race, as terrorists wish to exploit her for their own ends. The action scenes are terrific, and the film took home two awards at the Venice Film Festival.

Twelve Monkeys (Terry Gilliam, 1997)
Based on Chris Marker's La Jetee, this is a visually stunning, intellectually stimulating, and deeply compassionate film.
