Film Description

with a budget of £6.7m, Dresden is the most expensive made-for-television German production, and the first television feature film to be made about the infamous bombing raid on February 13 1945 which saw the near total destruction of one of Germany's most beautiful cities.

Many Germans regard the bombing as a war crime. This film illuminates the complexity of human characters under the life-threatening terror of the Nazi-regime and the war.

Both British and German historians participated in pre-
production which contributed to a gripping film about a
sensitive point in German history.
