Film Description

Jack and Victor have grown up together and here they are now, two cantankerous old men railing against the inequities of modern life.

They live across a landing from one another in the Osprey Heights block of flats, and most days can be found hatching mischief or becoming involved in somebody else's business.

They know each other so well they can finish each other's

sentences but that doesn't mean there isn't the occasional flash of antagonism between them, for age old differences die hard.

Other major characters include the cantankerous chain-smoking Winston Ingram, (whose 80-a-day habit causes him to lose a leg in the third series; the miserable and miserly Tam Mullen; gossip-monger Isa Drennan; local Muslim shop owner Navid Harrid and his sharp-tongued wife Meena (her face is never seen and her words are subtitled); and dodgy pub landlord Bobby the Barman.
