Film Description

Based on a true story, Provoked is the traumatic story of a Punjabi housewife and mother of two, who, unable to bear the brutality of her alcoholic husband, sets him on fire. Charged with murder, she is sentenced to life and befriends her wealthy white cellmate (played by Miranda Richardson) who asks her step brother, a respected Queen's Counsel (played by Robbie Coltrane) to help free her.
