Film Description

Aka Dangerous Beauty or The Honest Courtesan. Set in 16th century Venice. Though Veronica Franco is well born she is pennniless. leaving her with the choice of cloister or courtesan when she comes of age. She becomes a courtesan, and with her beauty and intelligence becomes a heroine for her city. When the plague arrives however, so does age-old superstition, and the Church charges her with witchcraft. At her inquisition, she must match wits with an old rival to save her life.
