Film Description

Exactly what the title says - four features from Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini. Features I Vitelloni (1953), La Dolce Vita (1960), 8 1/2 (1963) and Guilietta degli Spiriti (1965). From the sharply observed account of the social mores of Italy in the 1950s in I Vitelloni, through the satire of a society obsessed with celebrity and sensation of La Dolce Vita, to the world of filmmaking in 8 1/2 and the exploration of desire in Giuietta degli Spiriti, Fellini's world is engrossing, fantastical, satirical and thoughtful, and shot through with his own preoccupations. They have won numerous awards (Palme d'Or and Oscar for La Dolce Vita, Oscar for 8 1/2 among them) and are filled with indelible images.
