King Lear (Elliott, 1983)
Film Description Laurence Olivier, 76 at the time, won an Emmy for 'Outstanding Lead Actor' for his forceful and compelling performance as Lear in which he towers over the rest of a stellar cast - including Colin Blakely, John Hurt, Diana Rigg, Leo McKern, David Threlfall and Brian Cox - in Shakespeare's classic tale of misplaced trust, filial ingratitude, envy and the lust for power.
