The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe (Bunuel, 1954)
Film Description Buñuel's characteristically individual but otherwise straightforward take on Defoe's allegory of colonialism, in which he reverses many of the points of the book. Crusoe is shipwrecked, along with his dog and cat, when he is on a trip to purchase slaves. Though initially self-sufficient, the solitude slowly drives him mad. And what does he do with Friday when he meets him?
