Film Description

Aka Paha maa. Set against the icy backdrop of modern day Helsinki, Frozen Land is a modern adaptation of Tolstoy's False Note (the same source as Robert Bresson's L'Argent). The film follows a pair of computer hackers, a depressed policewoman, a car thief, and a vacuum salesman as their stories unfold amidst a bleak landscape where money is the goal and drink abounds.
