Mischief Night
Film Description An exuberant contemporary comedy drama about two families (one white, one Asian) who come together unexpectedly on a local night of carnival trickery and festivity. The film is set in an unnamed Yorkshire town, within the divided communities that were highlighted by the 2001 riots, and focuses on two families, separated by a park and by what has become an accepted lack of integration. The Crabtrees live on one side, the Khans on the other, with their parallel worlds locked on a collision course as the clock ticks down toward mischief night, a local tradition where madness and mayhem are allowed to rule, and children can play tricks without fear of being reprimanded.
