The Blue Dahlia
Film Description "Tamed by a brunette - framed by a blonde - blamed by the cops!" ran the tagline to this classic noir, which features a strong central performance from Alan Ladd as a naval flier who discovers his wife is an unfaithful tramp. When she is murdered, he becomes the prime suspect... gripping stuff, but the scenes Ladd shares with the beautiful Veronica Lake are surprisingly sensitive. Raymond Chandler famously wrote the script drunk to get it finished on time, but this vivid mystery never puts a foot wrong.

classic film noir by eddie davies I'm putting together a wish list for my 60th birthday and one of the genres i've always been interested in is film noir. I watched most of these in my old flea pit cinema in south wales but i'm sure they'll stand up well to viewing in DVD format. Comments and of course any essential titles i should add to mo list welcomed.
