Film Description
Three films from one of the most talented young French film-makers of his generation. Includes:
Boy Meets Girl (1984). Carax's début, shot in glorious black and white, blends dark humour with a gentle love story, as a jilted young man walks the night streets, destined to cross paths with a girl who is similarly troubled.
The Night Is Young (AKA Mauvais Sang) (1986). A brilliant mix of young love and sci-fi, as a young punk gets involved in a plot to steal a serum that cures a disease killing lovers.
Pola X (1999). A dazzling adaptation of Herman Mellville's novel, 'Pierre, or the Ambiguities', which tells the story of a man who sets out to find the illegitimate sister he never knew he had.
