Film Description

Le Monde Electronique de François de Roubaix contains a selection of François de Roubaix's electronic and electronic/acoustic soundtrack work for film and TV in the 1970s. There are tracks from La Scoumoune (the 1972 movie starring Jean-Paul Belmondo from director José Giovanni), La Mer est Grande (a sea-going adventure serial from 1973 by Philippe Condroyer), R.A.S. (aka Nothing to Report - the 1973 movie from Yves Boisset), L'Antarctique (music for a 1974 documentary from Jacques Cousteauwhich was considered to revolutionary to use by Cousteau) along with some bonus tracks. With a passion for electronics and galvanised by the techniques that came from "music concrete", not to mention the whole range of sound effects and different ways of manipulating the results, de Roubaix established himself as a leading innovator.
