The Soft Skin

The Soft Skin - Aka La Peau Douce. The anatomy of an affair between publisher Pierre and airline stewardess Nicole,

This film is not currently available on DVD.

Film Description

Aka La Peau Douce. The anatomy of an affair between publisher Pierre and airline stewardess Nicole, who arouses his interest when she changes out of her work shoes into sexy, sling-back pumps. Soon he is deeply involved; while his wife continues to play the perfect bourgeois housewife. However, her discovery of the affair takes the movie into surprising territory, leading to one of the most memorable conclusions in film history. Described by Truffaut as a tale of 'a truly modern love; it takes place in planes, elevators and has all the harassments of modern life', his attention to detail, and his ability to build so much tangible emotion into the film, make this an unquestioned classic.
