Film Description
Touted as the most sexually-explicit film ever released theatrically in the UK, this features seven directors (including Sam Taylor-Wood, Larry Clark and Gaspar Noé) attempting to illuminate the point where art meets sexuality. Clark's work in particular makes some salient observations about the pornography industry.

Review by Graeme Hobbs on 14th September 2006
For Destricted, seven artists were invited to make a short film depicting their views on sex and pornography. The first two entries show the diversity of approach on offer: Barney's Hoist features a man coupling with the drive shaft of a giant Caterpillar truck, while Abramovic goes for the social sciences approach to sexual rites in Balkan Erotic Epic. Brambilla then splices together hundreds of single frames from separate sex films for his 1½ minute Sync to show their conventions of gesture. The standout film though is Larry Clark's Impaled, which has interviews with young Americans 'raised on porn' about their sexual desires. The results are toe-curling, as the interviewees combine naivete with the complete colonisation of their sexual imaginations through porn. The chosen interviewee then has filmed sex with an adult actress of his choice. The resulting scene looks like something Martin Parr might film. All the films are highly explicit and would normally warrant an R18 rating from the BBFC, but they judged that it was 'a work of art not intended to arouse’.
