Film Description The beloved BBC miniseries about a young cook's rags-to-riches ascension from scullery maid to proprietress of the most fashionable hotel in turn-of-the-century London. Gemma Jones stars as Louisa Leyton, whose dream of becoming the best chef in England puts her into contact with Britain's upper crust and the political events which will soon make their mark on both Louisa and English society itself. This installment finds Louisa contending with a journalist who joins the hotel staff in disguise with the hope of exposing scandalous goings-on among the hotel's wealthy guests.
