Film Description

Inventive and critically-acclaimed comic horror in the vein of 'Delicatessen' and 'Eating Raoul', set in the (literally) cut-throat world of small town butchers. Friends Bjarne and Svend open a butcher's shop and an accidental death leads to them serving 'speciality' meat. Before long however, the growing number of missing persons in the town begins to draw attention to their business.

Deepest black rather than green is the colour for this acerbic crime comedy, which spins a modern riff on the Sweeney Todd legend: human meat supplied by a psychotic butcher becomes a delicacy to tempt the taste buds. The characters – a desperate and disturbed duo of butchers – are played with the eccentric relish to be otherwise found in the films of the Coen Brothers.
