Film Description

An HBO drama telling the true story of two men who defied the rules of their time to launch a medical revolution. Working in Baltimore in the 1940s on an unprecedented technique for performing heart surgery on 'blue babies', head of surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital Dr. Alfred Blalock and black lab technician Vivien Thomas form an impressive team. However, social pressures threaten to undermine their collaboration and tear their friendship apart.
