Film Description

A visually resplendent film set in 19th-century Edo, where demons lurk in the shadows, disguised in human form. Bizan, the beautiful leader of the demons, appears to the captain of the Demon Wardens and tells him that the rebirth of Ashura, the Queen of the Demons, has been foretold, and that man's reign over the world will soon end. A direct adaptation of 'Blood Gets In Your Eyes', a successful stage play which drew on both classic kabuki theatre and contemporary Japanese pop culture.
