Film Description

A modern film noir in which Burt Reynolds plays a case-hardened Los Angeles detective who finds himself drawn into a dark, complex puzzle that involves the sordid death of a strip dancer. Complicating his investigation is his relationship with a call-girl (Catherine Deneuve), one of whose high-powered clients is a main suspect. To complicate things further, the victim's unstable father embarks on his own erratic, inept sleuthing.
