Film Description

Anne Bancroft stars in this made-for-TV film about the Tillerman children, who go off in search of the mother who abandoned them. Instead, they find their grandmother (Bancroft), a stodgy woman who at first resists the children's affections. However, after much coaxing, the grandmother allows the children to stay with her, marking the beginning of a deep relationship. Based on the popular book by Cynthia Voight, Homecoming is a superb rendering of its source material, aided immeasurably by its fine cast headed by Ms. Bancroft.
