Film Description

Russell Crowe stars in this sensitive, moving Australian drama about a young crippled boy's coming of age. The boy is stricken with polio, and his dream in life is to become a great horse rider like East Driscoll (Crowe), an enigmatic and reclusive figure in his hometown. An evocative coming of age film and an emotional meditation on adolescence and the experience of a first love.

Review by Amanda M. on 8th December 2006

I loved this movie. I originally purchased it to watch Russell Crowe ride horses naked...luckily that was in the first scene so I could actually concentrate on the movie after that. :)

Hammers is a very touching story, and has a bittersweet ending. You just don't find movies made like this anymore. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
