Review by John Evans on 17th August 2005 I haven't seen the new reconstructed version of the movie but the original version is fantastic for those who like to see epic robot battles. Bear in mind that this film portrays a vicious war and there are many casualties on both sides, so it is not for the easily disturbed. Many children were upset by it on release back in 1986! That said, this movie is a great showpiece for what the Transformers can do when they cut loose. My favourite scenes are those featuring Unicron, the enormous Transformer who consumes entire planets!
